This is a much more efficient use of the network’s bandwidth, and it also prevents unauthorized users from intercepting traffic on the network. Until recently, switches were much more expensive than hubs, but recent advances in switch technology have made hubs all but old-fashioned. Routers enable computers to communicate and they can pass information between two networks—such as between your home network and the Internet. This capability to direct network traffic is what gives the router its name. Routers can be wired (using Ethernet cables) or wireless. If you just want to connect your computers, hubs and switches work fine; however, if you want to give all of your computers access to the Internet using one modem, use a router or a modem with a built-in router. Routers also classically provide built-in safety, such as a firewall. Routers are more expensive than hubs and switches. Basically, you want to take a cable from the full router (one of the regular ports) and plug it into the WAN/Internet port on the secondary router or switch. Then you can plug in more devices into the secondary router. The secondary device does not have to be a wireless router; it can be a switch or a normal wired-only router. Specifically, “Don’t use a Second router” you will have It costs absolutely nothing to simply enter the routers configuration setup, turn off DHCP, etc and turn into a switch. It also takes no time at all to do so

Considering the price difference between a switch and a router, I would always look at the option of buying a router and configuring it as a switch.

b) Differentiate among Hub, Switch and Router in the form of table?

A hub is typically the least expensive, least intelligent, and least complicated of the three. Its job is very simple: anything that comes in one port is sent out to the others. That's it every computer connected to the hub "sees" everything that every other computer on the hub sees. The hub itself is blissfully ignorant of the data being transmitted. For years, simple hubs have been quick and easy ways to connect computers in small networks.

A switch does essentially what a hub does but more efficiently. By paying attention to the traffic that comes across it, it can "learn" where particular addresses are. For example, if it sees traffic from machine A coming in on port 2, it now knows that machine A is connected to that port and that traffic to A machine A needs to only be sent to that port and not any of the others. The net result of using a switch over a hub is that most of the network traffic only goes where it needs to rather than to every port. On busy networks this can make the network significantly faster.

Router is the smartest and most complicated of the bunch. Routers come in all shapes and sizes from the small four-port broadband routers that are very popular right now to the large industrial strength devices that drive the internet itself. A simple way to think of a router is as a computer that can be programmed to understand, possibly manipulate, and route the data its being asked to handle. For example, broadband routers include the ability to "hide" computers behind a type of firewall which involves slightly modifying the packets of network traffic as they traverse the device. All routers include some kind of user interface for configuring how the router will treat rowter) (n.) A device that forwards data packets along networks. Software Development Life Cycle or SDLC is a model of a detailed plan on how to create, develop, implement and eventually fold the software. It’s a complete plan outlining how the software will be born, raised and eventually be retired from its function.

SDLC is also known as information system development or application development.

SDLC is a system approach to problem solving and made up of several phases, each comprised of multiple steps.

SDLS provides the following;

c) Control

d) Checklist

There are many different Models of SDLC where each of them will be perfect for a certain business setting.

Other models are chosen based on the available resources and skills, while others are chosen based on the language or toolkits they will be using. Usually, these models are divided into two categories;

a) Waterfall Model

b) Iterative model

a) Waterfall Model/Classic lifecycle/Linear sequential Model

The water model is a software development model. The Waterfall Model of SDLC refers to the idea of creating software by using traditional planning, testing and implementation. using this mode; developers will have strong documentation of software they develop.

b) Iterative model

The Iterative model on the other hand, uses constant modeling or prototyping. Developers just take a look at the problem (objective based) and constantly create prototypes to be constantly evaluated by the intended users. Incremental models, software is built not written. Software is constructed step by step in the same way a building is constructed.

There are several factors that will ensure the success of the implementation of SDLC.

These factors are not the steps in SDLC rather they are the external factors that will dictate whether SDLC will be followed which in turn assure the success of the developed program.

1.Management support: -

Developers, especially those who are working with a company have to work with managers in creating this type of software.

Developing software will always have its price since it will involve humans working on software.

Developers need to have the support of the management as much as possible since the management will dictate whether they need the product or not.

2. Technical and business expertise: -

There are regular programmers and there are really smart programmers who just know what to do even when the software’s objective is presented for the first time. These programmers know what SDLC model to use together with the languages or toolkits that need to be learn to ensure this program is a success.

On the other hand, business expertise is also important in software development cycle since they will dictate the demand for particular software. Business expertise is also important in (SDLC) since they will determine whether the software will eventually be a factor in time and money saving.
3.Complete documentation for maintenance: -

Granting the results of the software development is a success; it’s time to place them in all in papers.
